IKEA Debuts Renovated Youth Learning Center at Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha
Kenosha, WI – May 11, 2018 – Thanks to IKEA, the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha now has a beautifully renovated youth learning center. In conjunction with the IKEA Oak Creek Grand Opening on May 16th, the company knew it was important to give back locally.
“We are excited to be a part of welcoming IKEA to the community and are so grateful for their interest in giving back locally,” said BGCK CEO, Jake McGhee. “The room makeover looks so incredible and the kids will love it – I might actually copy a few ideas for my own living room.”
The youth learning center previously had several bookshelves, a few large storage cabinets and tables and chairs as work space. The goal with the renovation was to alter the room to make it even more functional for kids, and to maximize the activities area, rather than storage.
The renovated room now features a reading nook complete with comfortable chairs, pillows and stuffed animals, a gaming area with TVs and pods to sit on, and a craft station with a work table and padded stools. The room feels welcoming and comfortable with added ceiling decorations, plants and wall art throughout the space.
After the store grand opening on May 16th, IKEA plans to similarly renovate the teen center learning space.
