Boys & Girls Club Kenosha to Host Local Premiere of “Tommy’s Honour” at UW-Parkside

Kenosha, Wis. – March 31, 2017 – The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha will be hosting a VIP movie premiere of “Tommy’s Honour” at the UW-Parkside Theater on April 10th. The creator of the project and producer Jim Kreutzer will be in attendance.

As previously reported by the Kenosha News, Kreutzer was inspired to tell the story of Scottish golfing legends after a trip to St. Andrews in Scotland. The complex relationship between Old Tom Morris and Young Tommy Morris, founders of the modern game of golf, was detailed in Kevin Cook’s 2007 book, Tommy’s Honor: The Story of Old Tom Morris and Young Tom Morris, Golf’s Founding Father and Son. The story will come to life on the big screen when Kreutzer’s production, “Tommy’s Honour,” opens in theaters April 14th.

The highly anticipated film has already grabbed the attention of golf lovers everywhere. The world premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival on June 15th, 2016 was a black-tie, red carpet event and drew 1,500 people. It was awarded the 2017 BAFTA for best feature film, the equivalent of the Scottish Oscar.

On March 25th, NBC aired a behind-the-scenes TV special, “Far and Sure: An Intimate Behind the Scenes Look at the Making of Tommy’s Honour,” featuring PGA Tour star Jordan Spieth.
