Carthage College and the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha will offer one full-tuition scholarship each year at Carthage for a graduate of the club’s University of Excellence program.
To be eligible for the Carthage College Boys & Girls Club University of Excellence Scholarship, the program graduate also must:
- be a resident of Kenosha County
- be admitted to Carthage
- have a composite ACT score of at least 23
- have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0
- have at least two years of active membership in the Boys & Girls Club
- complete the FAFSA by April 15 of their senior year
“Academic skills are a big part of college, but not the only part. That’s why we’re so excited about this new agreement,” Carthage President Gregory S. Woodward said. “The University of Excellence program emphasizes qualities like leadership and service, and we can’t wait to help students further develop that well-rounded skill set at Carthage.”
The program encourages high school members to strive for excellence while developing academic, leadership, and social skills needed to be successful citizens beyond high school. Graduates must meet proficiencies in school, club, life goals, and character and leadership.
“This scholarship is a big deal for the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha,” said club Chief Professional Officer Ron Stevens. “This is further evidence of the great partnership we have with Carthage. We are confident that our teens in the University of Excellence program will work hard to be considered for this wonderful opportunity to get a great education at an outstanding college.”
