Kenosha, WI – June 12, 2018 – The Kenosha Running Company and the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha have teamed up to offer youth running programs and shoe expos.
The youth running club will begin on July 24th and is open to kids going in to grades 2nd – 8th. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the months of July and August, and from September 5th – 12th, practice will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. The program will conclude with all participants running in the Glow in the Garten 3K on September 15th at Petrifying Springs Park and Biergarten. The fee is $95 per person, and includes a program t-shirt and race entry in the Glow in the Garten 3K. Registration for the running club is open now at BGCSports.org.
Kenosha Running Company will host a handful of Shoe Expos at the BGCK throughout the year. For every pair of shoes that is purchased at the expo, Kenosha Running Company will make a donation back to the Boys & Girls Club.
Lastly, in the winter time, a “Run, Jump & Play” program will be offered to Club kids after school. The program will focus on running, plyometric drills, core and stretching as part of the Triple Play programming and emphasis on healthy lifestyles.
BGCK CEO, Jake McGhee, looks forward to the partnership, “We are always looking for new and exciting programs for our youth. What better way of doing that than partnering with an expert like Brian and his team at the Kenosha Running Company.”
“I am excited to be working with the BGCK to offer an option for those children that are not ball sport kids and give those looking to enhance their athletic skills that opportunity,” said Brian Thomas of Kenosha Running Company. “This program will be welcoming to all levels and will be designed around their fitness levels and abilities. This is just the beginning of our long term commitment to BGCK and the Kenosha running community.”
